Halloween Safety |
*Cross streets only at corners. Do not cross between two parked cars.
*Only go to houses that have lights on.
*Never enter a strangers house.
*Never go alone, go in a group, preferably with an adult.
*Do NOT eat any treats until inspected by parents
*Always carry a flashlight, it allows motorist to see you as well as allowing you to see.
*Wear bright colored costumes, or add reflector strips to dark colors.
*Do not wear a mask that will obstruct your vision, face paints are a safe alternative to mask
*Avoid high heel shoes or costumes that drag the ground. ( to prevent tripping)
*Stay away from all stray animals
*Trick or treat in your own neighborhood.
*Finish trick or treating and be home when your city's trick or treating ends.
*At what age should children go trick or treating alone? If your youngster feels that they are too big to have mom or dad go trick or treating with them then they are too old to go. Trick or treating is for the kids.
*Plan other activities for older children who do not want parents walking them around the neighborhood
*Always say thank you after being given a treat!
