I'd love to live in a forest room
With moss beneath my feet,
And the ceiling made of leafy green
Where boughs of pine trees meet.
The lighting I'd like indirest-
Just sunlight trickling through,
And here and there between the leaves,
A patch of Heaven's blue.
Oh, I'd love a little forest room
With walls of roughened bark,
And my only entertainment
Just the sweet song of the lark.
I'd let the whole world pass me by
And live a life serene,
With all the things I'd ever need-
Just God and sky and green.
