This tutorial was written using PSP version 7.02 but should work with other versions. It uses Selections which you can download HERE. I'm assuming you have basic knowledge of the tools in PSP and the use of the layer palette. Included in the zip is a color guide. Just use your dropper tool to select the colors. Or chose your own! Let's get started! Open a new image size 350x600, transparent background. Add a new layer named right shoe. Load rshoe selection. Flood fill with color #2. Deselect. Flood fill with color #6. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 25 Color: #4 Deselect. Add a new layer named right hand. Load rhand selection. Flood fill with color #3. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 15 Color: #4 Deselect. Add a new layer named left hand. Load lhand selection. Flood fill with color #3. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 15 Color: #4 Deselect. Add a new layer named right arm. Load rarm selection. Flood fill with color #1. Load head selection. Flood fill with color #3. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 35 Color: #4 Deselect. Add a new layer named hair front. Load hairfront selection. Flood fill with color #4. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 45 Color: #2 Deselect. Add a new layer named hat. Load hat selection. Flood fill with color #6. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with the following settings: Vertical & Horizontal: 0 Opacity: 50 Blur: 45 Color: #4 Deselect. Add a new layer named eyes. Take the pil1eyes.psp file and copy. Go back to your pilgrim girl image and Paste...As New Selection. Deselect. Add a new layer named nose. Load nose selection. Flood fill with color #1. Deselect. Add a new layer named mouth. Load mouth selection. Flood fill with color #1. Deselect. Add a new layer named cheeks. Load mouth selection. Flood fill with color #5. Deselect. Add a new layer named apron line. Load apronline selection. Flood fill with color #1. Deselect. In your layer palette drag this layer below your arm layers. I also added some freckles. On the cheeks layer, color #1, paintbrush size 1. I just dotted a few on each cheek. Now you can merge your layers and export as a tube! You can make what you want with your result but please do not try to make money with it! And you're done!
