![]() This tutorial was written using PSP version 7.02 but should work with other versions. I have also used Eye Candy 4000/Jiggle. It uses Selections which you can download HERE. I'm assuming you have basic knowledge of the tools in PSP, use of the layer palette, and pattern fills. Included in the zip is a color guide. Just use your dropper tool to select the colors. Or chose your own! A fur tile is also included thanks to Doneta of Fleigmommy's PSP7 Tutorials (Thanks so much!) Let's get started! Open a new image size 350x550, transparent background. Add a new layer named right leg. Load rleg selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply the following drop shadow: ![]() Deselect. Add a new layer named left leg. Load lleg selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow as for the right leg. Deselect. Add a new layer named right paw. Load rpaw selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow but change the blur to 15. Deselect. Add a new layer named left paw. Load lpaw selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow. Deselect. Add a new layer named shirt. Load shirt selection. Flood fill with my kitty pattern included in the zip. with these settings: (or use a pattern/color of your choice!) ![]() Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with these settings: ![]() Deselect. Add a new layer named right strap. Load rstrap selection. Flood fill with color #1 Apply a texture, I used: ![]() You can, of course, use any you'd like. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with these settings: ![]() Deselect. Add a new layer named left strap. Load lstrap selection. Flood fill with color #1. Finish the same as the right strap. Deselect. Add a new layer named bibs. Load bib selection. Flood fill with color #1. Finish as straps BUT Change the blur of your drop shadow to 35. Deselect. Add a new layer named ear. Load ear selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply a drop shadow with these settings: ![]() Deselect. ON THE SAME LAYER. Load earinner selection. Colors....Adjust...Brightness/Contrast: Brightness: 50 Contrast: 0 Deselect. Add a new layer named head. Load head selection. Flood fill with fur tile. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow BUT change the blur to 35. Deselect. Add a new layer named eyes. Load reye selection. Flood fill with black. ON THE SAME LAYER Load leye selection. Flood fill with black. Deselect. Apply the following Inner Bevel: ![]() Add a new layer named mouth. Load mouth selection. Flood fill with black. Deselect. Add a new layer named nose. Load nose selection. Flood fill with color #7 or color of your choice. Apply the same Inner Bevel as above BUT change the smoothness to 50 and the shininess to 17. Deselect. Add a new layer named cheeks. Load cheeks selection. Flood fill with color #8. Deselect. Add a new layer named hat top. Load hattop selection. Flood fill with color #4. I appled the same texture I used on the bibs. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow BUT Change the color to #. Deselect. Add a new layer named hat band. Load hatband selection. Flood fill with white. I again applied the same texture. Selections...Invert. Apply the following drop shadow: ![]() Deselect. Apply Eye Candy Jiggle: Brownian Motion Bubble Size: 5 Warp Amount:5 Twist: 90 Add a new layer named hat ball. Load hatball selection. Flood fill with white. Selections...Invert. Apply the same drop shadow BUT change the blur to 15. Deselect. Apply the same Jiggle. Add a new layer named hat line. Load hatline selection. Flood fill with color #5. Deselect. Add a new layer named arm lines. Load armline selection. Flood fill with color #5. Deselect. Add a new layer named stitch. Load stitch selection. Flood fill with color #3. (You may have to zoom in) Deselect. Add a new layer named button. Load button selection. Flood fill with color #4. Now grab the paintbrush tool and paint two dots on your button. Copy your button and paste as new selection. Move into place under the left strap. Deselect. Now....go to your hat band layer Apply the following drop shadow: Vertical & Horizontal: 1 Opacity: 100 Blur: 5 Color: #11 Now....go to your head layer Apply the following drop shadow: Vertical & Horizontal: 1 Opacity: 50 Blur: 5 Color: black Now go to the button, eyes, nose, mouth, and both strap layers and apply the same shadow you used for the head. Now you can merge your layers and export as a tube! You can make what you want with your result but please do not try to make money with it! And you're done! ![]() |
